Pop Up Santa

Hello Crafters!

Hope you are enjoying the Sunday sunshine. I have been reading about the World Card Making Day and thought I need to share a card too.

This one was my first pop up and it happens to be a Christmas card. I haven’t yet bought any of the dies that make it so easy, so this was all worked out by yours truly, so it isn’t perfect but it is unique!

Now I started writing out how to make this, but to be honest, it is so complex the best thing I would say is, just have fun experimenting and finding your own way of how to put these things together. I didn’t find it hard, but it was time consuming and fun at the same time, as learning something new is always fun! Certainly made a few boobs along the way, but all are valuable lessons!

The best thing about this was putting together little ol’ Santa here. He was a real pleasure and must admit, made me have a giggle or two on a few stories I remember about Santa and the children! This die is from Marianne Designs – Eline’s Santa. Well worth having in your die stock, just a happy fella, and there are other put together creatures, that I will be investing in at some point.

The fence on this had me questioning if I had lost my marbles making it a bit complicated but it worked in the end. The mountains in the back were just randomly cut from brown card and distressed with Picket Fence and then a gel pen to mark some features, and I was really please with how it looked!

All in all, much experimenting and loads of fun.

Have a lovely crafty Sunday.

  1. How cute is this! I love the pop ups. I have only made a couple myself. I have a die that really makes it easy….just it out the first time was a little time consuming…but hey, we learn as we go right! Great job on making this without the use of a die! πŸ™‚

  3. Awww what a great make! I LOVE the belly band, it makes cards into something extra special. Cute santa too.

It’s such a lovely, crisp card. Well thought out, beautiful colours and put together so expertly. Well done on a fabulous make.

So, Miss K…. how are the plans going for the Card Making/Craft Lessons that, last I heard, you were still in the planning stages of. Has anything been set in stone now? Do tell.
